I'm going to college next year and I'm really nervous. The college I'm going to is Onslow college. I want to be in the top class for maths because maths is the the only subject they stream. I think the thing I am most worried about and thing that I'll find the hardest is finding new friends because Liam Quinn is the only other person from the school going to Onslow.

Book Week

Book week was last week as all of you know given that the only people who read my blog are from st Ben's. I dressed as a disco instructor. I enjoyed reading to the class because of the feeling of authority I got from sitting in front of everyone. My favourite activity I did was making the mine craft boat from Magnus Chase.

Pig might fly

This week we have to talk about our favourite picture book when we were young. My favourite book was Pigs Might Fly by Jonathan Emmett and Steve Cox  (Not to be confused with Pigs Might Fly by Dick King-Smith or Pigs Might fly by Nick Abadzis) I first had the book read to me when I was about 3 by my mum. I heard the book so many times. The general story line of the book is that the pigs  join a plane race to win some pies and the wolf is there as well. I have no idea why I found it so good but I did. I rate it 7/10.

Tech again

I'm here to talk about the new subject I'm doing in tech which for some reason is puppet making and sustainability, which is slightly bizarre. I am making a fire fly puppet, fire fly is a  villian from batman. It' taking ages to sand out the head so that's quite difficult to stay on task. I enjoyed the 3d printing. You don't really learn any new skills it's more about using the skills you already know.

A new tv talk show is in development and is planned to come out some time in week 8. The director/writer/actor/registered awesome person Adam Byrne said "I can't tell you much right now because we're trying to keep it a secret but I can say we might be using I Movie and the classic talk show format and we hope to learn about film making."

BLAKE'S 7 IS SO CHEESY 
so we have to write a post about our holidays. I'm going to talk about what I did on the last weekend. Me and my Cousins went to our auntie's house and watched Blake's 7 which is a British sci fi TV show from the '70s. We also went to the beach and went to McDonald's.

we went to parliament last week and saw the debating chamber (which is way smaller than it looks on tv) an office ( which was really cool) The press room and the library ( great architecture). My favourite thing was the debating chamber because of all the we learnt there.

Book groups are over

THE BOOK'S OVER NOOOO! It was a very good but the reat of the group didn't think so. It was really fun doing book groups because I got to see other peoples points of view and talk about what we had just read. I think I achieves goals set for book groups and what I didn't like was having to not talk for a bit. I wouldn't change anything for next year.

NZ first leader Winston Peters stole $18,000 from the state

We have to write about a political news event. So i'm doing this one. For the last 7 years Winston Peters has been taking higher superannuation payments then he was supposed to. Basically After any kiwi turns 65 they get payed superannuation every week but single get payed more then those who aren't. Winston Peters, who isn't single, signed for the pay of a single person.
Three things I want to learn about parliament and elections are;

1.How do they count then votes
2.What the lesser parties represent
3.how they decide on things in parliament

I'm going to talk about X men Apocalypse. the movie is the third movie in the reboot of X men and it was really cool. So the plot is that more and more mutants are going to Charles Xavier's school for the gifted but an evil force has awakened. A big chunk of the movie was in 1983 Egypt.

I'm talking about book club today. Who doesn't love books. the book we've been reading is called tangerine it's about this dude named Paul who moved to county in which weird stuff happens. Pyramids, Terry Pratchett

I'm here to talk about a book I've read recently called pyramids written by Terry Pratchett. The genre is comedic fantasy like all Pratchett's books. Pyramids is about a guy who inherits a desert kingdom called Djelibeybi. he was educated at the assassins guild in Ankh Morpork and is determined to to make the kingdom more like Ankh Morpork. Then he accidentally commands an architect to build the biggest pyramid ever and all hell breaks loose.

Holidays

I've finally changed my intro. anyway I'm talking about the school holidays. I really didn't do much this holidays (it was heavenly). I did go to a really good holiday programme. You go to the ASB sports centre and we decide where to go as a group at the start of the day, It can be anywhere in Wellington. During the holidays we went rock climbing twice, watch a lot of Netflix, went swimming, saw a movie and played on some inflatables.

Tasks

Today I'm talking about 2 tasks we had to do last week one was the camp recount and the sporcle quiz. I think I did very well on these tasks because I got them completed to a high standard by morning tea on Friday. I set goals for what I wanted to do on my recount on that day and that helped complete it. I would of done nothing differently.

Tech

I'm here to talk about tech. I'm in robotics and it's really fun. what we've done so far is programming a robot to see a wall in front of them and turn around and drive away. The class I'm looking forward to the most is cooking because you can eat lots. To make sure I get the most out of tech I'll pay attention to what the teacher is saying.

CAAAAAAAMP, camp

'ello

Camp was last week! YAAAAAAAAAAAY.
It was kinda over rated at the start but the last 2 days were fun (at least for our group).

The hardest thing was probably helping Cloe up the mountain because you had to be really patient. The easiest thing was probs the tyrolean because all you had to do was sit there while other people pulled you. and wehen you were pulling it was incredibly easy.

It wasn't as I expected. I thought we wouldn't do as much setting up but that just added to the fun. The thing I'm most proud of is completing the cargo net because I'm extremely afraid of heights and it was so freaky.

Light and Colour

so this post is about light and colour. It was quite a cool topic for science, I found it more fun than the the other topics because of all the experiments. The experiments definitely help me learn because you don't just write down what things do, you see what they do. some things I've learnt are what different lenses do and what transparent, translucent and opaque mean. there aren't any things I want to ask the scientists.

Swimming (and a few more exclamation marks just to annoy miss bolger) !!!!!!!!!!

So swimming has been average this year, much the same as last year. So the main thing I've learn't is what do with your hands while doing a simple dive. I would like to learn how to dive in head first. I don't do much swimming in my own time. I don't dislike anything about swimming. I think it's a good idea to have swimming at school because it gives those who don't do much swimming in their own time to swim.
